Maori Party awaiting SFO summons

The Māori Party says it has still not heard officially that its late declaration of donations has been referred to the Serious Fraud Office.
Radio New Zealand is reporting Police passed on information provided by the Electoral Commission regarding donations from former party co-leader John Tamihere, National Urban Māori Authority and a limited partnership, totaling more than $300,000.
The party says it acknowledged it failed to report the donations within the 10-day period required for sums over $30,000 and self-reported its error to the Electoral Commission.
It will co-operate fully with any investigation.
Meanwhile, the Electoral Commission has given the National Party a warning for its late reporting of a $35,000 donation from businessman Garth Barfoot.
