Whanau ora kaimahi receive diplomas

Kaimahi from 15 Whānau Ora organisations throughout the North Island today received their Whānau Ora diplomas.
Speaking at Te Puia Arts and Crafts centre in Rotorua, Māori Development Minister Willie Jackson told the 48 graduates they are the face of the new Māori workforce and the more knowledge they acquire, the better they can advocate and support their people.
Waipareira CEO John Tamihere says the diploma course supports staff working across multiple disciplines of health, education, welfare, housing and justice.
It is delivered through noho marae, monthly workshops, individual and group tutoring, work base practicum, self-directed learning, research and online facilitation.
