Marae portraits inspire flu jab campaign
This year’s national influenza immunisation campaign has been given a Māori spin.
Māori-owned advertising agency RUN was asked by the Immunisation Advisory Centre to develop a new brand identity and campaign aimed this year at Māori kaumātua aged 65+ and older Asians.
Creative director Raymond McKay says the campaign theme came out of community consultation supported by Hāpai te Hauora, Asian Family Services and healthcare professionals.
It features paintings of real people done in the style of classic portraits to give the visual message that the elders are a taonga to their whānau.
