Role Funding:

Marlborough District Council has started a representation review, which will include the implications of creating a Māori ward.

The review will also look at whether it should drop its current ward structure and instead elect all councillors at large, and whether it should form community wards.

Mayor John Leggett says it is consulting the community consultation on how it can ensure effective and fair representation and the best way to represent Marlborough’s communities of interest.
