Royal bubble gets Covid jab

Kiingi Tuheitia has received the Covid vaccine.
Māori health providers Turuki and Raukura Hauora o Tainui facilitated the king, his family and those in his bubble receiving the first of the two Pfizer jabs on Friday.
Archdeacon Ngira Simmonds, the king’s chief of staff, says the king meets hundreds of people every week, and the safety of the people is his main concern.
He says the king wants to encourage people to make informed decisions about receiving the vaccine.
"We can make informed decisions together. They are certainly not forcing people. All they are doing is saying to all of Aotearoa and particularly te iwi Māori read the information as they did and make a good choice and if there are some who wonder or are unsure and it might help them make a decision from what the king has done, then that's a good thing and we would be happy about that," Archdeacon Simmonds says.
