Women’s Rugby World Cup delayed a year

New Zealand Rugby board member Farah Palmer is relieved this year's Women's World Cup is being postponed rather than cancelled outright.
The competition, which was to be held in Auckland and Northland in September and October, has ben rescheduled for next year because Covid-19 restrictions made it too difficult to guarantee teams could enter and play.
The former Black Ferns captain says many international teams are struggling to train under lockdown restrictions.
"The Canada women's team hadn't played any rugby for a long time so we want this tournament to be a demonstration of what women's rugby is capable of, come and see the best athletes, so if we want to do that we've got to take that all into consideration," Dr Palmer says .
