Mahi tahi best strategy for vaccine roll out

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern says having a Māori plan will be critical to the success of the Covid vaccine roll out.
Vaccinators are getting their jabs today, and they will turn the needles on workers in managed isolation and border roles tomorrow, with health workers and the elderly next in the queue.
Ms Ardern says she has been sitting in on meetings where the focus has been on issues such as the isolation of many Maori communities and the need to build confidence in the safety of the programme.
"We've been speaking to iwi leaders who really want to be part of modelling what we need and so fantastic engagement there. I feel really confident this will be something that we all work together on. In the same way we only succeeded in our lockdown because we all did it together, the exact same thing applies to the vaccine. We will only succeed if as many people as possible get it,' she says.
