The Ngāti Maniapoto Māori Trust Board is set to initial the tribe’s settlement of historical claims.
The tribe signed an agreement in principle three years ago after a year-long negotiation led by Hauraki-Waikato MP Nanaia Mahuta.
Board chair Keith Ikin says there are a number of matters that are still unresolved which the iwi will continue to push.
He says Thursday’s initialling at parliament will mean the deed of settlement and the proposed Post Settlement Governance Entity can be presented to iwi members to consider.
