Whaingaroa CEO moves on

Kaeo-based Te Rūnanga o Whaingaroa has lost its chief executive.
Toa Faneva is leaving to head up NorthTec, the largest provider of vocational education and training in Northland.
Chair Murray Moses says during his six years at the helm Mr Faneva has built up the rūnanga’s capabilities, staff and services, including securing Community Housing Provider status for its emergency housing arm.
He also developed a strategy to diversify the rūnanga’s investments beyond fisheries, including the establishment of Te Puna Koanga, Whaingaroa Housing Company, and Ngā Toenga Whenua Tōpū o Whaingaroa.
