Vodafone recognises iwi have spectrum interest

Vodafone is describing its partnership with Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu as a milestone.
The digital services company has committed to increasing digital connectivity within the iwi and creating employment opportunities for iwi members over five years.
Its head of Māori development, Kirstin Te Wao, says employing more Māori falls in line with the company's Honour the Treaty policy announced in July.
"As we look to roll out our infrastructure and our network across Aotearoa we want to have discussions with mana whenua in those rohe and clearly Ngāi Tahu has some interests in that space. We have a responsibility under our treaty policy to recognise whenua and spectrum within that context," she says.
