Keen interest in Maori touch tourney

Māori Touch NZ is reporting strong interest in its 21st annual tournament, which will be held at Rotorua’s International Stadium on December 5 and 6.
Chair Carol Ngawati says more than 50 teams have signed on so far, with entries remaining open until this Sunday.
The tournament pōwhiri on December 4 will include a special tribute to touch legend, George Rogers.
Ms Ngawati says the Waitākere Māori Touch player and coach attended every Māori touch tournament until his death last year.
Up to 5000 people are expected in Rotorua for the tournament.
