Scanner to improve whanau body image
New Zealand Community Trust is giving Gisborne's Huringa Pai Charitable Trust $20,000 towards a 3D body scanner.
Huringa Pai founder and indigenous health specialist Dr Willem Jordaan says the scanner will help evaluate body posture, design exercises, and track weight loss and body composition status.
This information will help motivate whānau to make sustainable changes in their lifestyles.
Huringa Pai or Positive Change focuses on the whānau as a group and also works intensively on a one-on-one basis to support lifestyle changes with diet and exercise to prevent and eradicate pre-diabetes and diabetes.”
