Maori STEM students get nutrition boost
The High-Value Nutrition National Science Challenge and Massey University's Pūhoro STEM Academy have entered a four-year partnership to create internships for Māori students.
Pūhoro's mission is to raise participation and achievement of Māori students in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Director Naomi Manu says the partnership will give students exposure to research and personnel and in the high-value food, beverage and nutrition eco-system.
They will also get the chance to find their own connections to the land, the indigenous kai within it and the science underpinning what makes these products crucial to the nation but also incredibly valuable to the world!"
