Maori dance delight in first Kotahi Rau Pukapuka round

The first four books in an ambitious plan to publish 100 great books in te reo Māori will be launched tomorrow.
They include translations of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, Dr Seuss's Oh, the Places You'll Go!, and The Alchemist by Brazilian writer Paulo Coelho, as well as Mātāmua ko te Kupu!, a new book about the Māori dance arts by Sir Timoti Karetu.
Kotahi Rau Pukapuka trustee Pania Papa says it's great to be able to include Sir Timoti's book in the first release.
"It highlights our focus and our commitment to te reo Māori and to authoring new books in te reo Māori. That is one of the bigger goals as well, not just translating but to grow the pool of Māori authors so we have some excellent examples of language on offer to people who are interested," she says.
The books will be available in printed form, as e-books and as audiobooks, to suit every type of Māori language enthusiast.
