Greens positioned as best partner for Labour
Greens co-leader Marama Davidson says Māori voters are showing they feel the Greens are the best partner for Labour in government.
Ms Davidson is running third in polls for Tāmaki Makaurau behind Labour and the Māori, Party, and the results are similar across the Māori electorates.
She says Māori want a Labour Government, but they understand the Greens will step up when Labour falls short.
"It is the Greens who will turn up to Ihumātao. It is the Greens who supported people to end further arming of the police. It is the Greens who will speak clearly that we need support, not separation of our Māori babies so Māori understanding the particualr role – we can work productively with Labour but we will push them, particularly on Māori issues," Ms Davidson says.
