Whaitiri safe in Ikaroa-Rawhiti
A Māori Television poll of the Ikaroa Rāwhiti electorate has found Labour’s Meka Whaitiri is set to retain her seat.
The poll of 499 respondents conducted at the start of the week has a 4.3 per cent margin of error.
It found if an election were held today, Ms Whaitiri would get 46 per cent of the vote compared to 19 per cent for Māori party candidate Heather Skipworth Te Au.
Labour would sweep 62 per cent of the party vote compared to 10 per cent for the Māori Party and 3 per cent each for New Zealand First and the Greens.
