Māori storytellers in demand for digital marketing
An Auckland digital marketing agency is counting on Māori storytelling to help it survive in the post-COVID economy.
The Hood & Co took on Ngāi Tūhoe visual and tā moko artist Te Haunui Tuna through Te Puni Kōkiri's cadetship grants program.
Director James Rua says a demand for indigenous stories from many high-profile companies means a new sort of worker needs to be found.
"There are a lot of Māori storytellers wanting to get into the industry and it is very difficult so our company wants to bridge that gap and connect Māori storytellers to business and brands and help tell our stories within our company platform," Mr Rua says.
