GirlBoss Edge opens doors for rangatahi


Te Pūtahitanga o Te Waipounamu is backing a programme to get more young women into engineering and technology careers.
Funding from the whānau ora commissioning agency will allow 140 rangatahi wāhine to attend a 10-day GirlBoss Edge courses.
Chief executive Helen Leahy says they will hear from industry heavyweights like Maru Nihoniho, the founder of game developer Metia Interactive who has made the Forbes World's Top 40 Women in Tech.
"Being able to have people they can relate to who can say how do you make things work for yourself. This is relevant useful advice they can put in their kete to become girl boss," Ms Leahy says.
