New rules as Auckland lockdown eases

Aucklanders are being urged to follow the new rule for COVID Alert Level 2.5.
The city moved out of Level 3 lockdown at midnight, but with stricter conditions than in the rest of the country.
Mayor Phil Goff says the system to stop the spread of transmission will only work if people follow it.
If people want to move back to Level 1 as soon as possible, it means wearing a mask when you go out, not attending gatherings of more than 10 people and following good hygiene practices.
From today people using public transport must wear a mask or face-covering.
Yesterday two new community cases of COVID-19 were reported, both linked to the Auckland cluster.
One new case is a household contact of a previously confirmed case associated with the Finance Now workplace and the other is a healthcare worker a medical centre in Tokoroa who came into contact with an existing case two weeks ago.
