Northern Mystics captain and Silver Ferns defender Phoenix Karaka has announced she is expecting her first child with her All Blacks partner, Patrick Tuipulotu.
She thanked the club and head coach Helen Wilson for the way the embraced the news.
Wilson says Karaka’s leadership played a big part of the Mystics’ success this season, when it placed third in the ANZ Premiership.
Karaka made her international debut in 2014 and has 30 Test Caps.
