O’Regan picked for CORE role

Ngāi Tahu educator Hana O’Regan has been appointed Chief Executive of CORE Education, a national provider of professional learning to teachers as well as to government, corporates and other organisations.
Dr O’Regan’s most recent position has been General Manager of Oranga/Wellbeing for Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu.
CORE board chair Michaela Blacklock says she will bring a rare combination of executive leadership, experience as an education practitioner, international recognition as a te reo Māori expert and advocate, and skill in working with iwi to implement the intent of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
CORE has 200 staff and offices in Christchurch, Wellington, and Auckland.
