Flexibilty gives PGF strengh in provinces

The parliamentary under secretary for regional economic development is back home in Rotorua today bearing gifts.
Fletcher Tabuteau says he’s excited by the upgrade of Te Ngae Rd that will allow Ngāti Whakaue Tribal Lands Trust to develop more than 1000 houses on its whenua, as well as more than $2 million in additional funding from the Provincial Grown Fund to help finish the earthquake strengthening of the Rotorua Museum.
He says the flexibility of the fund is its strength.
"There’s so many ways to generate economic activity. It's not just a business fund. It's about roads, it's about art galleries, it's abut enabling housing like we're seeing, so it's been an amazing opportunity for me the last for years to be part of the investment programme before COVID and even now it has made and is making a massive difference to our whānaus out there," Mr Tabuteau says.
