Auckland's Sky Tower is set to shine like a sunrise in celebration of Matariki.
From June 24 to 28, the 4th and 5th July and the 10th to 12th of July, it will be lit with an orange base, rising to a vibrant yellow at the top, mimicking dawn.
The rising of the Matariki constellation above the north-eastern horizon signals the Māori New Year.
Sky City spokesperson Claire Walker says Matariki is a time for communities to come together to acknowledge the year gone by and make plans for the year ahead.
