West Auckland Licensing Trusts are offering a lifeline to community groups in the area whose revenue has been slashed by COVID-19.

Trusts marketing manager Amanda Cassidy says groups struggling to pay operating costs can get up to $10,000 from the Your West Support Fund.

She says since March community groups including organisations like Hoani Waititi Marae and Te Whānau o Waipareira have seen a three-fold increase in demand for services while losing income from regular foundation sources.

"It's been a double hit for them and this is a time of real need for a lot of families in our community so we see this as just being the start of our support," Ms Cassidy says.
