Tainui Group Holdings is matching a $16.8 million grant from the Provincial Growth Fund for roading connecting the Ruakura Inland Port to Hamilton East and the new Waikato Expressway.
Te Whakakitenga o Waikato chair Parekawhia McLean says the support from the Government and a $5 million contribution from Hamilton City Council.
The council will bring forward the transformational benefits of Ruakura for the country, the city and the iwi.
Work on the roads is scheduled to get underway later this year.
Ruakura is one of the country's largest developments, spanning industrial, commercial, retail and residential development areas totalling 490 hectares.
The first 17-hectare stage of the 30-hectare inland port now in development by TGH and Port of Tauranga in a 50/50 joint venture.
