Container clinics bring healthcare to community
Te Whanau o Waipareira is trialling pop-up container health clinics that can take services into impoverished areas in west Auckland.
The three containers were blessed at a service at Whānau House in Henderson this morning.
Chief executive John Tamihere says from the COVID-19 crisis the trust learned simple drive through care and assessment works extraordinarily well.
Digital applications can be used to stop queuing and give instant service.
The clinics will be run by qualified nurse practitioners or paramedics who have been certified to take blood tests, provide vaccinations and dispense medicine.
