Māori pushed down National list

National’s Māori development spokesperson wants to know why there are no Māori on the party's front bench.
Jo Hayes says she will be questioning new leader Todd Muller about the seniority list today.
"This is not good. We need to remedy this or you need to front it and take it head on and say why. You need to give a better explanation – 'we have a party full of challenging people la la la' – You need to actually say what it is you wanted, and it is up to him as to whether he will come up with a response like that but yeah," Ms Hayes says.
She has discussed the party’s Māori education policies with deputy leader Nikki Kaye, and so far they are unchanged, including a revival of kura hourua-charter schools.
