Flu jab push working in Hawkes Bay

More than 69 percent of Māori 65 and over in Hawke’s Bay have received an influenza vaccine, a record for this stage of the year.
The district health board is on track to meet the national target of vaccinating 75 percent of Māori 65 and over.
Māori health nurse director Ngaira Harker says the DHB, iwi providers, pharmacies and the region’s primary health organization have worked together to reach those most vulnerable to influenza, and pop up clinics were with Māori health providers and churches with large Pacific congregations.
