Pre-work tests keep nurses in isolation

Two nurses at Waitakere Hospital have been confirmed with COVID-19 after treating patients brought in from the St Margaret’s Hospital & Rest Home.
The nurses showed no symptoms during a stand-down period of precautionary self-isolation at home, but a routine test as they prepared to come back to work proved positive.
The third case announced today by the Health Ministry is a person who has travelled back from overseas.
Today’s cases bring New Zealand’s combined total of confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases to 1,497.
