Ngai Tahu Farming’s technical farm manager Ash-Leigh Campbell has made the final three for the Fonterra Dairy Woman of the Year award.

The Canterbury native assists with the management of eight dairy and dairy support farms running 8000 cows.

She is also involved in the company’s implementation of sustainable farming practices.

The New Zealand Young Farmers chair says studying and working on farms in the Canterbury region, including receiving a Whenua Kura Scholarship for her studies at Lincoln University, helped connect her with her Ngāi Tahu whakapapa.

She’s up against Auckland based microbiologist and biochemist Natasha Maguire and West Coast dairy farmer Heather McKay for the award, which is managed by the Dairy Women’s Network.
