Indigenous voices celebrates
A new journal of creative writing has been launched to provide an outlet for indigenous voices.
Lead editor Faith Wilson says Tupuranga will prioritise Maori but is open to all people who identify as indigenous.
In her own case as a Samoan, she considers herself an indigenous person of the diaspora.
She wants to hear from writers who had never published before, or who were too nervous to submit to existing journals with non-indigenous gatekeepers.
Tupuranga’s first issue, TAHI, has just gone live at www.tupurangajournal.com
