Path set for restarting economy

New Zealand’s team of five million has been credited with breaking the chain of transmission of COVID-19, meaning the country can start moving out of its level 4 lockdown.
Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern says by going hard and going early it now has among the lowest number of confirmed cases per 100,000 people in the world. .
The Alert Level 4 lockdown will continue for a week until midnight next Monday when it will drop to level 3.
That means almost half a million people can go back to work in sectors like construction, forestry and contactless retail, but it does not allow more social activity.
People are being urged to work and learn from home if they can, keep their bubble as small as possible, and make their businesses COVID-safe.
