Tauranga Arts Festival goes online as lockdown escape
Tauranga Arts Festival has started putting content online as a substitute for its cancelled Queen’s Birthday weekend Escape! Festival.
Festival director Ria Hall says it’s a chance to deliver some highlights from previous festivals, as well as get members of the festival whānau to supply items of interest, including some that may be produced through the lockdown.
The arts at home series started this week with a video done for the 2014 Māori Language Week of Hall performing ‘Aotearoa’ with Stan Walker, Troy Kingi and Maisey Rika, all of whom have Bay of Plenty connections.
At noon today, it will post the Stroppy Women panel discussion from the 2018 festival featuring award-winning writer Tracey Slaughter, former Green MP Sue Bradford and former Tauranga City councillor Mary Dillon.
See more at www.taurangafestival.co.nz, the festival’s Facebook page, on Twitter @tgafestival and Instagram. Look for the hashtag #artsathome.
