Raukawa brings fisheries expert home
Raukawa ki te Tonga Trust’s commercial arm has appointed a fisheries specialist to its board as a non-executive director.
Graeme Hastilow is a member of Te Ohu Kaimoana’s leadership team and manager of Te Wai Māori Trust, which advocates for Māori interests in freshwater management.
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration from Victoria University of Wellington with a double major in commercial law and Māori resource management and also spent 10 months in Japan with Sealord shareholder Nippon Suisan in a Te Ohu Kaimoana scholarship.
Raukawa ki te Tonga Asset Holding Company chair Debra Birch says fisheries quota represents almost a third of the company’s total investment portfolio.
She says Mr Hastilow brings a wealth of experience in fisheries and resource management to the board.
