National has chosen Dale Stephens as its candidate in Christchurch Central.
Mr Stephens from Te Rarawa is the director of Māori business at New Zealand Trade and Enterprise.
The Christchurch native says the city benefited greatly from the previous National Government’s strong economic management and focus on results, but it is suffering from the current Government's failure to deliver.
He says in the recent Infrastructure announcement, Christchurch received pennies in comparison to other major centres.
Christchurch Central is held by Labour's Duncan Webb with a 2871 vote majority.
