Te Au-Skipworth top pick for Ikaroa Rawhiti race

Iron-Māori founder Heather Te Au Skipworth has a new race to run.
She’s been picked as the Māori Party candidate for Ikaroa Rāwhiti in the September 19 election.
Ms Te Au-Skipworth says it’s a continuation of the desire to support whānau transformation that led her to start the Māori-focused triathlon.
She identified institutionalised racism as the major cause for her campaign.
Māori Party president Che Wilson says Ms Te Au-Skipworth is a strong wahine Māori who has a track record of delivering meaningful change for whānau on the ground.
