MP Louisa Wall says she will be fighting to retain her spot at Labour’s Manurewa candidate.
Ms Wall faces a strong challenge from lawyer Ian Dunwoodie, a former parliamentary advisor to the seat’s former MP George Hawkins, with young party activist Arena Williams also putting her name in the ring.
She says she will be standing on her record.
"And I would love to continue to be the advocate, the champion, the person on the ground in Manurewa who is meeting the needs of our constituents and holding the public system accountable to our people, that is essentially my job," she says.
Louisa Wall says she has also been an advocate on issues of racism, sexism and homophobia in society
