It’s the day for tamariki and rangatahi to be on the water at the Te Wānanga o Aotearoa Waka Ama Sprint Nationals.

Yesterday more than 700 taitamariki aged from 6 to 10 took part in the racing on Lake Karapiro.

Today more than 2000 paddlers are registered to compete in the intermediate class, from 6 to 13, and the J16s.

The competition runs until Saturday.
