Pohio steps in to run Ngai Tahu business

Ngāi Tahu Holdings has appointed former Tainui Group Holdings head Mike Pohio as its chief executive for an 18-month term.
Ngāi Tahu Holdings chair Mark Tume says Mr Pōhio, who has Ngāi Tahu and Ngāti Pikiao connectons, will stand down as a board member and start in the chief executive role in January.
Outgoing chief executive Mike Sang, who announced in August he was stepping down after seven years, will stay with the company until March to support a smooth handover.
Mr Tume says the board needed to appoint someone knowledgeable about the group as Ngāi Tahu Holdings repositions itself for its next phase following a period of growth.
