Te reo guide helps boardroom progress
The chair of the Federation of Māori Authorities says a te reo Māori translation of The Essentials of Being a Director is an acknowledgement of the growing importance of the Māori economy.
Nga mea waiwai o te tūranga whakataka was released today at a Seeka Eastpac Māori language seminar in Te Puke.
Traci Houpapa says the Institute of Directors and the Financial Markets Authority took the lead on the project as a way to support not only Māori directors but all New Zealanders taking the te reo journey.
It also supports the FOMA's commitment to diversity and inclusion on boards, and follows on from its exemption last year allowing companies to publish disclosure statements in English and Te Reo Māori.
