Reo resources given online hub


Online resources for teaching and learning Māori have been collected on a new hub launched today,
Associate Education Minister Kelvin Davis says Kauwhata Reo was developed to meet the growing demand for te reo Māori resources.
He says teachers have complained rauemi Māori are difficult to find on existing education websites.
Over the past three years, the number of students attending Māori medium schooling has increased by 1,000 a year to now be about 20,000, while demand for te reo Māori in English medium schooling is increasing by 5000 students a year to now be about 165,000.
