Māori priority in Northland economic plan

An added emphasis on Māori economic development is a key feature of a refreshed Tai Tokerau Northland Economic Action Plan.
Parliamentary Under-Secretary for Regional Economic Development Fletcher Tabuteau says significant progress made over the last two years because the original plan included several ready to go projects which benefited from the Regional growth fund, including the upgrade of the Bay of Islands Airport and the Wairau Māori Art Gallery.
The refresh comes with a further $200,000 from the fund, on top of the $217 million in projects announced in the region so far.
Priority areas for investment include digital connectivity, water storage initiatives, and skills and employment.
