Māori and Pacific lens over new TVNZ content.

TVNZ's new general manager of local content says she's keen to put a Māori and Pacific Island lens across the task.
Nevak Rogers joined the TVNZ a year ago as commissioning consultant – Māori and Pacific programmes after a long career in Māori Television and independent productions.
She says television broadcasters have a mammoth task ahead of them over the next decade is dealing with the challenges posed by competitors like Netflix and the way content is made and distributed in the digital age.
"I think TVNZ has made a bold move and is committing substantially more pūtea than it ever has to local content and is really upping its commitment in that space. Local content is what makes us different to anywhere else in the world and by virtue of whakapapa, having a Māori and Pacific Island lens across that is going to be … I'm really excited, humbled by the responsibility too that is going to come with it," Ms Rogers says.
