Tree restoration all about the bees

Iwi at the top of the South Island are looking at ways to restore the ecosystem for bees.
They’re holding a native tree planting wānanga this weekend at Wairangi Bay on Croiselles Harbour in the Marlborough Sounds this weekend, led by scientist Ray Henderson.
Helen Leahy from whānau ora commissioning agency Te Pūtahitanga o Te Waipounamu says it’s an initiative of Blenheim based Big House Infused Honey, which the agency funds.
"Ngāti Kuia has been looking at how can you work with the bees and work with honey across medicinal, across kai, across healing, across a whole range of properties to ensure you get the best opportunities for your people. So all about the bees," she says.
