Huia book goes down a bomb

A book about a popular summer pastime for tamariki is providing a splash for Māori publisher Huia’s Christmas sales.
Executive director Brian Morris says The Bomb or Te Pohū in the te reo Māori version is the third book by award winning duo writer Sacha Cotter and illustrator Josh Morgan.
It’s about a young boy who wants to learn to bomb.
"The boy is not your typical bomber. He's of slight physical build. He's not necessarily the type of person you see doing bombs off bridges or other high points we have around the country. It's actually his kuia or grandmother who teaches him. it's quite a quirky story really," Mr Morris says
Huia has had another successful year, including the publication of tribal histories coming out of the treaty claim process and discovering and mentoring a number of young Māori writers.
