Māori housing fund boost for Papakura Marae


A plan to built six kaumātua flats at Papakura Marae has got a boost from a new $15 million Māori Housing Fund.
Associate Housing Minister Nanaia Mahuta says the fund is designed to support initiatives that not only improve housing but also provide opportunities and additional benefits such as learning new skills, building financial capability, and whānau participation in the local economy.
The investment will assist with infrastructure and construction of the papakainga, and the marae will allocate the homes to kaumātua.
