Doctors employed by Ora Toa Health went on strike for an hour this morning.
Lloyd Woods from the Association of Salaried Medical Specialists says they want the Te Rūnanga o Toa Rangatira-owned company to allows its dentists to join the same collective agreement as doctors.
He says the rūnanga is refusing to recognise the dentists’ important role as part of the wider medical team in a holistic service.
More one-hour strikes are planned ahead of a full-day stoppage on December 24.
