Kaumātua Olympics set for Sulphur City

Rotorua's Toa Oranga Tinana kaumātua group has won its bid to host the next Kaumātua Olympics.
The event, backed by Hamilton-based kaumātua services organisation Rauawaawa Kaumātua Charitable Trust, has been running for 10 years.
Spokesperson Laurie Morrison says Toa Oranga Tinana is looking for a high school to partner with, both for a venue and for its students to help devise the games and support the event.
She says this year's Rauawaawa Games was a taster for what to expect.
"You start laughing from the time you arrive right up until you leave. Now isn't that a fantastic motto for our kaumatua and an environment for them to be in," Ms Morrison says.
