Wall eyes Fiji elections

Manurewa MP Louisa Wall leaves this weekend for Fiji observe next Wednesday’s election.
Along with colleagues Poto Williams and Darroch Ball and former MP Ross Robertson she will work alongside observers from India, Australia and Indonesia.
She says it’s with the cooperation of the Fiji government in what’s just the second general election since the 2006 coup.
"It really is about a level of reassurance that the democratic processes involved in elections are being followed and that is people who are registered to vote have easy access to the booths, they get to vote privately, that there isn't anything we should be wary of in terms of that whole process to then report back to the United Nations after we have had some dialogue with the Fiji government," Ms Wall says.
