Skills and regions on business agenda
Building tomorrow’s skills, accelerating the regions, attracting high quality investment, and unleashing small and medium enterprises are to be the initial priorities for the coalition Government’s new Business Advisory Council.
Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern met the council for the first time in Auckland today and says it can play a key role in helping to shift the economy up a gear and unleashing New Zealand’s economic potential.
She says the Government is committed to ensuring no New Zealander is left behind in the skills transition going on in the economy.
Council chair and Air New Zealand chief executive Christopher Luxton says it has identified four areas where business and Government working closely together can make a huge impact not just economically but also socially and environmentally.
The 13-member council includes GC producer Bailey Mackey from Pango Productions and Rachel Taulelei from Whakatu Incorporation food and beverage business Kono.
